Parts of the plot of the film:

Exposition: The movie started by showing the life of Lea who was a filipino tour guide in Sapporo, Japan. It depicted the life she was living before she got cheated by her boyfriend and got blind.

Rising action: Tonyo came out of nowhere and befriended Lea. The setting being located in Japan made it easier for Tonyo to think of a way on how to be closer to her. Being Filipinos, we have this custom of "Kabayan" which means a fellow Filipino or someone who lives in our country. Tonyo used it as a way of expressing his desire to get to know her. Everyday he would drop by in Lea's porch to offer her filipino classics like sinigang.

Climax: At a certain point, Lea got annoyed or rather pissed at him for visiting her everyday. However, that situation was starting point of their friendship. As their friendship grew, they started to be comfortable with each other which made the both of them happy. Even if Lea couldn't see, they still travelled around Japan. Lea being a tour guide before, lead the way through Tonyo's eyes. As they take different adventures in different places, an unexpected love occurred.

Falling action: Lea had the possibility of getting her sight back and when that time came. A tragic ending to Tonyo's life faced their fate. Tonyo died and Lea became depressed all over again.

Resolution/Denoument: Lea went to Tonyo's apartment and discovered that they already knew each other long before Tonyo showed up in her porch. The story ended by showing all the places they've been to as she reminisced the feeling of being with Tonyo all over again.

Why did you like the film? In what aspect?

Personally, I liked how they made it seem like a normal "love story" before they showed the plot twist in the story. They showed that love comes in different ways. Tonyo, showed the love and happiness that Lea needed at the time when everything was falling apart. He popped out of nowhere and build up his confidence to get to know her better. Well, that's what we thought, when in fact, Tonyo already knew her before he started visiting Lea — He was the drunk man in front of Lea's house whom she have been giving the cabbage to. The man who gave her flowers when she was upset. The one who helped her find out that her boyfriend was cheating on her. The man wearing the banana suit and drank with her to make her feel better. But behind those appealing and sweet-sounding actions, was a man who isn't the perfect man that a woman would fantasize of. This wasn't the usually boy next door type of love story. The writer did not based it on the looks which I think was genius and extraordinary. Thus it showed that you don't need to look perfect in order for a person to like you. The representation of the actors in their characters was another reason why I liked the movie. They portrayed their roles naturally as if they were already a love team before. Lastly, I liked how the story ended with Tonyo's letter. Everything was created with fines. The persons behind the movie did a great job to make every part of the movie worth the watch.
